Firearms Incident - Streatham |
||
|
On 10th December, at around 2100hours, officers responded to multiple emergency calls in the Streatham area involving reports of a person behaving aggressively, and later seen with what appeared to be a firearm. Thanks to swift action by our Specialist Firearms Officers and response team in Lambeth, the situation was brought to a safe conclusion and the individual was arrested.
Weapons were recovered, and the firearm confirmed to be an imitation. Further checks at a nearby property revealed potential fire risks, which were quickly made safe with support from the London Fire Brigade. Several residents were evacuated in the area of STANTHORPE ROAD, and later allowed to return to their properties.
This incident demonstrates outstanding professionalism, bravery, and teamwork across both our firearms officers, local response teams, and emergency partners, preventing serious harm to the public.
Please join us in recognising these efforts and sharing the positive impact of this work in keeping our communities safe in Streatham. | ||
